Tweed // Sustainability
How can we unite cosy living and sustainable management without sacrificing comfort? That was our initial question and remains our sincere desire. Since then, we have been working continuously to make all our services as sustainable as possible. And as it happens: our guests appreciate the idea and support us in this objective. We are particularly pleased about this and realize: Together with you, much more sustainability is possible!
Renewably energy
We switched to eco-certified electricity and gas even before the big crisis and source our energy from Green Planet Energy using only renewable sources, without coal or nuclear. This cooperative has its roots in the environmental protection organization Greenpeace. We want to contribute to a clean future and inspire as many people as possible to do so too.

Regional and seasonal
We always try to make sure that our supplies are as regional, seasonal, fresh and organic as possible. For example our organic coffee is Fairtrade and the breakfast rolls come from Dithmarschen around the corner! So we can help save CO2 for transport routes. The same applies to our beds: They are manufactured only a few kilometers away in Kiel.
No plastic on the table
It's not just a question of aesthetics, but also of environmental friendliness when breakfast comes to your room beautifully arranged and plastic-free. Your breakfast comes ready on a tray prepared in small bowls, dishes and jars. There is no one-way and to-go but only reusable and multipurpose containers.
Charge your e-car
You can also come to us with your e-car. Right in front of the house we have installed an e-charging station with two charging points - only for our guests. Just reserve the parking space in advance free of charge, the electricity used will be put on your account. And of course it is eco-certified - what else?
Bike & charge
Surely, you can bring your own bike with you or park your hired bike - in our wind-protected courtyard. There are also three charging points for batteries, so that e-bikers can easily recharge their electric bikes.
And how about ourselves?
We always ask ourselves what we can still improve in terms of our own and the hotel's eco-balance. That is why we have planted a forest in our second home Ireland. Beech, Irish Oak and conifers grow on the ten hectares. They help to offset our carbon footprint in a very tangible way. So we'll keep at it - as consistently as we can and in all aspects.
